Leaders are finding that existing ways of managing, coaching and controlling are coming under pressure. And that AI is having an impact on more than just technology: also on culture, ethics, decision-making and collaboration.

Yet the urgency for effective leadership is still not widely felt. This training makes you aware of what is at stake and offers you the perspective and practical tools to meaningfully engage with it from your role.

Programme Content

This training supports leaders in the transition from uncertainty and hesitation to self-assured, strategic direction. Participants will learn how to not only understand AI, but also how to deploy it ethically and strategically within their organisation, with a focus on people, processes and culture.

Our leadership approach is based on an integrated theoretical model from years of academic research, connecting behavioral competencies with internal beliefs for a deep understanding of leadership effectiveness.

Systems Thinking

The theory combines systems thinking, Adult Development and organizational development, validated by empirical research and practical application in various sectors.

Focus on Leadership

Note: This training is not a tool training. Although we will work with GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, the emphasis is on the role of leadership and the realisation of a successful, human-centric AI transformation.

Programme Overview

Pre-event - Optional Clinic

For participants who want to deepen their practical experience with GenAI, we are organising an interactive clinic the evening before the official start. You will explore GenAI tools and applications so that you can begin the training with confidence.

Day 1 - Laying the Foundation for AI Leadership

  • Understanding AI: Explore the history, applications and trends of generative AI - including hands-on demonstrations.
  • The unique challenge of AI transformation: What makes GenAI different from previous digital transformations?
  • Leadership in the AI era: What does leadership mean in a time of disruption? Including self-reflection based on a scientifically-backed leadership model.
  • Pitfalls and opportunities: Lessons from practice - what often goes wrong with GenAI implementations?

Day 2 - Strategy, Risks and Personal Leadership

  • AI risks & governance: Insight into risks, ethics and responsible AI use within organisations.
  • Strategy development: Setting direction, prioritising and organising the transformation.
  • Enabling change: Explore ways to secure buy-in and structure for AI-driven change.
  • Embedding leadership: Align your leadership style, create a personal action plan and commit to future growth.

Study materials and preparation

Personal leadership self-assessment

Prior to the training, we ask participants to complete a personal leadership self-assessment. The insights from this are actively used during the sessions.

Digital materials

All course materials are available digitally and are shared via a central online environment. A laptop is required for certain exercises.

ChatGPT account

Participants must have a ChatGPT account (the free version is sufficient), as generative AI tools are actively used during the training.

Additional resources

After the training, participants will receive a carefully curated selection of additional GenAI resources to continue their learning journey independently.

Certificate & Conclusion

After successful completion, participants receive a participation certificate for GenAI Transformation and Leadership.

More important than the certificate is the personal and professional growth that each participant undergoes: from gaining insight into GenAI and its impact on leadership, to developing concrete actions for their organisation.

We conclude the training together with time for reflection, appreciation and celebrating new insights, breakthroughs and connections.

About the trainers

This training is provided by Richard Kalmeijer and George van Hoeijen—both experienced guides of complex organisational transformations, with a strong focus on leadership and the human dimension.

Richard Kalmeijer

Richard is an experienced guide in organisational development and digital transformation, specialised in leadership development and the management of complex changes. He has a proven track record in building agile organisations, scaling operations and implementing Agile @Scale.

With experience at leading organisations such as Booking.com, Air France KLM Cargo, Decathlon and BNP Paribas Fortis, he brings both systemic and strategic insights as well as a people-centric approach to his work. Fluent in Dutch, French and English, Richard helps leaders embrace technological disruption with confidence and vision.

George van Hoeijen

George is an experienced transition manager and Lean-Agile coach with a strong focus on continuous learning and organisational development. He has broad experience in guiding transformations at organisations such as Achmea and BNP Paribas Fortis, where he creates impact through collaboration, optimisation and people-centric change.

His approach is pragmatic, goal-oriented and driven by his belief that real change emerges from connection. George is known for his optimism, sharp observations and ability to mobilise leaders and teams—even in complex, rapidly changing environments.
